The modern-day student-athlete faces incredible challenges in and out of competition. At Utah State University, we believe the student-athlete must be placed first in every decision we make and are committed to providing the tools to be successful long after athletic careers are finished. Investments in support of the Student-Athlete Excellence Fund impact our student-athletes beyond the classroom by providing invaluable resources for mental health, nutrition and recovery, leadership and career development, and financial support through academic progress awards (Alston payments) and name, image, likeness.

We believe in building the next generation of leaders. While on campus, Aggie student-athletes will have access to professional development, internships, guest speakers and mentorship opportunities, and life skills programming that will give them the tools to be successful long after their athletic careers have ended.
Mental health and wellness
Balancing rigorous academic and physical demands with the high expectations of athletic performance can lead to significant mental pressures like stress, anxiety, and burnout amongst Aggie student-athletes. Access to mental health support helps these athletes develop coping strategies, maintain their overall well-being, and sustain peak performance. We are committed to addressing mental health proactively to help prevent more severe psychological issues, foster a supportive and inclusive environment, and enhance the holistic development of student-athletes.

The single greatest need is the resources to provide access to a Utah State University education. The Big Blue Excellence fund provides room and board, books, tuition, and academic support for 400 student-athletes but, more importantly, it provides a path to a lifetime of success through a college education.

Gifts to establish an endowment provide lasting financial stability for student-athlete scholarships. Endowed funds are invested and earn income in perpetuity that will be used to support the annual educational needs of an Aggie student-athlete.
